Hydrastis canadensis
Active substances: alkaloids including hydrastine, berberine, canadine, and hydrastinine
Much current research centers on the anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor
effects of berberine which is found in goldenseal, Oregon grape, barberry, huanglian, goldthread,
and yellowroot.
